A single copy can contain more than plain text. ClipsX retains supported representations together, so you can return to the content and choose a useful form later.

Plain textClipsX

Text & Markdown: Notes, snippets, and formatted writing, with readable previews and text representations.
HTML & rich text: Rich content and its plain-text companion when the source application supplies both.
Images: Image previews and available metadata. OCR text may be available on supported systems.
Links & structured data: URLs, JSON, and other recognized text, with relevant previews and actions.
Tables & files: Supported table representations and file references supplied by the source application.

Available formats depend on the source app, operating system, and capture policy. A file reference is not a cloud backup.

Start with full-text search. Narrow the history and keep frequently used clips easy to reach.

Search: Look for words in your clipboard history.
Pins & favorites: Mark clips you want to return to often.
Tags & filters: Organize clips and narrow the visible history.
Optional Meaning Search: Find related content using a compatible local Ollama model. Requires separate setup.

Privacy & sync

Understand where your data goes.

Local clipboard history and account features have separate roles.

On your device: Clipboard history and its local search data stay on the desktop device.
Optional local processing: Meaning Search uses your configured compatible Ollama setup. It is not required for ordinary text search.
Optional account sync: Selected settings and extension choices can sync through an account. Clipboard history is not included.
Extension access: Permissions and processing depend on the extension. Check requested access before approving it.

Do I need an account?

No. The core local clipboard experience does not require an account. Account-based features, such as supported settings sync, are optional.

Which download should I use?

The Download page lists currently available builds and installation information. Check it for availability on your operating system.

Can this website access my clipboard?

This Product page does not read or write your clipboard. Capture happens in the installed desktop application.

Are OCR and Meaning Search always available?

No. OCR depends on platform support and configuration. Meaning Search requires an optional compatible Ollama setup. Ordinary text search works without either.
