How ClipsX combines exact retrieval with optional Ollama-powered semantic search.
Exact first, meaning when useful
Commands, identifiers, and filenames reward exact search. Concepts and half-remembered phrases benefit from semantic retrieval. ClipsX keeps both paths and merges their strengths instead of pretending one search mode solves everything.
You choose the provider
Ollama runs separately on loopback. You select the endpoint and compatible model; ClipsX checks health before building a derived index. Models are not downloaded silently, and deleting the index never deletes clips.
